Description

Catesby Tunnel opened in November 2021 after a multi-million pound investment to convert this 19th century rail tunnel into an indoor vehicle test facility. The Tunnel is set to become the worldwide benchmark for certain types of aerodynamic testing and vehicle development, and is expected to attract customers from Europe and the rest of the world.

The 2.7km long indoor facility provides a highly controlled environment that can help provide data like nowhere else in the world.

The development will enhance the capabilities of the UK vehicle industry and provide a base for the commercialisation of new technology, innovation and R&D. The talk will focus around why the tunnel was repurposed and the opportunities it brings to the automotive and sporting world.
