Welcome to the Birmingham Centre of the Biomedical Engineering Division (BmED)
The Birmingham BmED Centre has been active since January 2019 to extend the national presence and impact of theBiomedical Engineering Division (BmED)of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
The Centre aims at functioning as a hub for professionals, companies and academics in the biomedical engineering community of the Midlands providing events and opportunities to engage and collaborate on relevant topics.
Events and opportunities are added regularly in the relevant sections (links on the left).
We are always looking to expand our committee and volunteers, engaging with other regional committees within and outside the Institution.

IMechE members who have selected Medicine and Health or one of its subsets in the Industry tab of their profile and have their address within our "catchment" and have selected "yes" to Email in the "Updates from member networks near you" in Mailing preferences will be notified of our events by email. Please take a moment to make sure your profile is up to date.
If you are seeking to gain Professional Registration to EngTech, IEng or CEng, IMechE staff are regularly running events in the region to assist you in the process. We will be happy to put you in touch with them.
