Construction of the site started in 2008 and was commissioned in 2010 when owned by Centrica. The site was sold to EP UK Investments in 2017, who now manage the site.
The sites total capacity is 905 MW and with a high-pressure steam system enables a relatively high efficiency of 51.5%. The flexible design is capable of two-shift operation and minimum load, enhancing the plants capabilities. The combined cycle provides increased flexibility to National Grid for support and system services helping grid stability. EP Langage Ltd is the southern-most gas-fired power station in the UK.
