The Institution of Mechanical Engineers Devon & Cornwall Area Committee would like to invite you to a technical visit of the Energy from Waste plant based in Devonport, Plymouth.On the day we will be led by the knowledgeable Community Liaison Manager Jane Ford, the tour is scheduled to take 1.5 - 2 hours.MVV operates a highly modern and efficient Energy from Waste plant at North Yard, Devonport, Plymouth. This facility provides a waste treatment solution for the Southwest Devon Waste Partnership. It deals with waste from Plymouth, Devon and Torbay that is not recycled or composted and generates electricity as well as usable heat in combined heat and power (CHP) mode, thereby saving valuable fossil resources and reducing carbon dioxide output.

Jane Ford is the Community Liaison Manager for MVV UK. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding the Energy from Waste plant in Plymouth. Her role is to educate the community about how the plant operates and how it is beneficial to the future energy demand of the South West.
