    This inaugural lecture by Prof. Timothy G. Leighton is the first event organised by the newly formed Southampton branch of the Biomedical Engineering Division of the IMechE which is chaired by A/Prof. Georges Limbert and co-chaired by Dr. ALexander Dickinson, University of Southampton. In this lecture, Prof. Leighton will discuss the multi-faceted aspects of his research on sound and bubbles and his multiple high-impact inventions that arose from it.
