About the Committee
Covering the towns of Bournemouth, Poole, Swanage, Ringwood & Christchurch, we have a membership of approximately 600. Over many years we have built up a reputation for holding successful engineering technical talks and industry visits. We also hold a bi-monthly Luncheon Club primarily catering for our retired members and their partners.
To deliver engineering into local schools, we work with and sponsor Dorset Asset and Valter Prize Trust. The work of the Trust culminates in an annual prize awards ceremony for students, which is held at Bournemouth University.
The IMechE and Bournemouth Area committee are keen to support the ongoing professional development of Engineers in their journey to Chartered and Fellow membership status, and run a bi-annual “Get Registered” event. Should you be in need of a sponsor to support your application, please feel free to contact our committee and we can arrange an informal meeting to discuss and progress your application.
