IMechE Lancashire Area

The objectives of the Lancashire Area Committee are:

  • To provide a service for the IMechE members and the public in Lancashire, whether it's providing opportunities for Personal & Professional Development, or organising interesting and engaging Engineering related events.
  • 通过技术讲座,促进工程guided technical visits and STEM related activities involving companies, universities, schools and colleges as well as other charities.
  • To encourage local IMechE members to get involved and engaged with the Institution.
  • To inspire, develop and support volunteering members for a sustainable and strong committee.

As the new Chairman, I would like to encourage you to contact us, whether it's to attend an event, find out how to take your engineering experience and enthusiasm into schools, get involved in the Lancashire Area Committee, organise an event, or do a presentation at an event.

This committee also supportsNorth Lancashire Young Member Panelwho meet at Lancaster University,South Lancashire Young Member Panelwho meet at University of Central Lancashire as well as Blackpool & Fylde College. This allows us to reach further into Lancaster and generate more ideas to support the above objectives. It also gives us the opportunity to organise events of a more social nature. I also want to sincerely thank Paul Shechter and all committee members for their support, mentoring and coaching they have provided over the past years. I believe our committee has grown from strength to strength with Paul's leadership and I certainly will work hard to maintain and improve that trend.

We have a very diverse and inclusive committee that cultivates many great opportunities. We look forward to hearing from you, and together we will improve the world through engineering.
