Description

Title: Managing the Risk of Fatigue in Process Pipework

Synopsis: The integrity of process pipework in offshore and onshore facilities is safety and business critical. Among the many damage mechanisms that threaten the integrity of pipework, vibration-induced fatigue failures come as the second reason for the loss of containment of hydrocarbons in the UK North Sea. Traditionally, operators would manage the risk of vibration-induced fatigue on a reactive basis since pipe design codes treat vibration superficially at best. The presentation will highlight the risk of vibration induced fatigue and present case studies of risk management.
