Power Industries Division NW Centre

The centre is the North Western Power Division of the IMechE and represents power related companies and academia in the Region.

The division works very closely with the Greater Manchester Area of the Institution and shares a joint committee but each has a separate Chairman and the honorary Secretary.
Seven dedicated Power Related lectures are presented each academic year covering topics related to the Power Industry. They cover subjects such as Fracking, Nuclear Fusion, Power Generation from wave, tide, wind, solar etc. to Power Generation from waste heat.

The division have a very active and enthusiastic committee who continuously offer suggestions of suitable topics for future lectures, and when they are adopted the individual follows it through including organising the event.

Most of our lectures are held at the Manchester Metropolitan University who are very enthusiastic about the IMechE and they provide excellent facilities for all of our events and meetings together with refreshments.

However we are always looking for enthusiastic members for our committee who would like to contribute to our continued success and if you are interested please get in touch.
