About Us
The East Yorkshire Young Members Panel (IMechE EYYM for short!) represent young engineers in the greater East Yorkshire area. The Panel is composed wholly of volunteers from across the area representing students, apprentices, researchers, graduates and professionals. We aim to provide activities and events for IMechE Young Members in the local area which support the IMechE themes of Energy, Environment, Transport, Education, Healthcare and Manufacturing.

The Panel is primarily based in Hull, although covers the greater East Yorkshire area. This includes the industrial centres of Goole, York and Scarborough, as well as the likes of Malton, Beverley and Driffield. Whether based in the area permanently or on a temporary contract, everyone is more than welcome to get involved.
Our Events
Various events are held regularly throughout the year. These include monthly meetings (which have been held online during the past year) and are open to anyone who would like to get involved. We also arrange tours of local industry, lectures on engineering themes, STEM and CPD events, as well as social and networking events where you can get to know like-minded individuals. History
Originally formed in 2011, the committee has seen steady growth over the years as our events offering has expanded. In this period, we have already seen a number of our members achieve Chartered status, with the committee acting as a useful stepping stone as members progress through their careers.

Whether you are a student or an experienced professional, everyone is welcome to get involved with our events or our wider journey. We are constantly looking for new members and opportunities in the area. A Young Member of the IMechE is someone who has not achieved corporate membership status (Chartered, Incorporated, EngTech), or has been so for less than 10 years.
