The Gloucester IMechE committee is very excited to welcome you to a presentation on the topic of Formula 1 Aerodynamics at the BWT Alpine F1 Team.

Alpine F1 made their debut at the start of the 2021 Formula One World Championship. Formerly known as the Renault F1 Team, the Formula One car constructor is owned by French Automotive company Groupe Renault.

A significant amount of the technical expertise required to produce the car is based in Enstone, Oxfordshire. All the components except the engine are designed and manufactured at the site making it an integral part of the car development. The Enstone F1 Team boasts impressive pedigree with over 40 years of experience starting in Witney with Toleman in 1980, before being bought by Benetton Formula in the early 1990s and a subsequent move to Enstone. This highly skilled base provided foundation for a successful 2021 campaign, with a podium at the Qatar Grand Prix and an excellent victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The team have been busy at work with the new technical regulations for the upcoming season.

Jeroen Klein Geltink Alpine F1 Deputy Principal Aerodynamicist has over 11 years of experience in the field, working previously with the formerly known Renault Sport F1 Team and before that the Lotus F1 Team. He has also been Vice Chairman of Oxfordshire Automotive committee for several years.
