Description

We will set the scene with a little history lesson going back 100 years. At the outset of the motor car EVs outsold ICEs. We will include the foundations of energy storage in batteries and electric motors.
History of the 70's oil price shocks which saw a false dawn for electrification (limited by battery technology)
We will look at some of the weird and wonderful creations of Battery Vehicle society in the UK and self build electric vehicles through to the G-Wiz (still lead acid battery).
Then we jump forward to today. COP26 in November. A ban on the sale of internal combustion engine vehicles in the UK coming into force by 2030. Central London now has an ULEZ and plans to ban ICE vehicles in 2025, 3 1/2 short years.
What does the future hold for EVs, including new ownership models?
Discussion around personal mobility solutions that are being enabled with improvements in battery / electric motor technology and control systems
