This Process Industries Division Event has been organised by the Process Industries Division Centres in the North West and Yorkshire Regions the Aberdeen Area and jointly with the Food and Drink TAC, part of the Process Industries Community
As concern for the environment and the impact of global; warming grows, organisations are increasingly being challenged to improve the sustainability of both their products and their production systems. While many see this as a necessary on-cost to meet growing legislation, more progressive organisations are embracing the opportunity and embracing sustainable thinking.
Engineers involved in product and production system development have a huge opportunity to take a strong lead in these challenging times.
In this webinar we explore how the idea of a “circular economy” encourages engineers to rethink their product development process to consider the full product lifecycle and beyond to achieve sustainability.
The webinar will tackle questions such as:
- How do we maintain, or even improve, profitability while meeting sustainability goals?
- How do sustainability considerations impact our product design in the short, medium
and long term?
- How do we move from linear to circular product lifecycle thinking?
- How do we identify opportunities for product reuse, recycling, repurposing and
recovery?
- How do we evolve existing thinking on common product platforms and modularisation to
drive sustainability?
Only by taking a “whole system approach” can organisations evaluate the true impact of the design decisions they make to ensure that they deliver on the “triple bottom line” goals for Planet, People and Profit.
This webinar will help you to identify concrete actions you can take in your context.
Following the presentation, there will be opportunity for questions to be taken from the audience.
