The Peterborough Young Engineers (PYE) brings together young members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The committee’s role is to provide a range of events aimed at young engineers in Peterborough and surrounding areas. In recent years, we have organised technical presentations, socials and quizzes, alongside chartership events.
A key focus for the PYE is promoting engineering in local schools through STEM Team East’s STEM Ambassadors programme. The last few years have been extremely successful, and we now work with over 100 volunteers in 20 different schools, targeting around 1500 children every year.
