The Object Process Methodology: extending Model-Based Systems Engineering to downstream system lifecycle stages

.

Object Process Methodology (OPM) is a conception modelling language and methodology for capturing knowledge and designing systems, specified as ISO/PAS 19450. Based on a minimal universal ontology of stateful objects and processes that transform them, OPM can be used to formally specify the function, structure, and behaviour of artificial and natural systems in a large variety of domains.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Ontology and Universal, top-level ontology.
  • Why stateful objects and processes are the only building blocks needed to model any system.
  • How OPM is deployed to perform tasks beyond the current MBSE.
  • The System Operating System idea.
  • Modelling Internet of Things, Medical Diagnosis, and Natural Language Processing.
