Description

CE certification is a statutory requirement here in Ireland for manufacturers and users of machinery since 1994. This presentation will address the legal duties and responsibilities of engineers and the roles of Competent and Notified Bodies and the engineer’s interaction with them. This will be discussed in the context of machinery, electrical machines and potentially explosive atmospheres.

About the presenter
John G Munro is originally a Chartered Marine Engineer and a recipient of a Trinity College Dublin, law degree. John is the Managing Director of CEAL, a recently appointed Notified Body for machinery.

A Notified Body is required to attend and be a functioning part or Working Groups within the EU Commission, which ensures that they are up to date with the latest thoughts on their relevant fields of expertise.

CEAL specialises in Machinery safety related functions, injection and blow moulding, machines, FOPS, MEWPs, flexible gas piping and automated guarding systems.
