The IMechE Switzerland group invites you to a tour of the SBB workshops in Yverdon-les-Bains as part of the SBB 175th anniversary open-day celebrations on the 2nd of October.The Yverdon workshops, which employ around 650 people, play a crucial role in the maintenance of SBB vehicles. The specialists are in charge of overhauling and upgrading SBB’s train fleets, repairing traction motors or reconditioning the bogies.The tour of the workshop production areas will be led by Stefano Mastropietro and will last for approximately 1.5hrs.So come and take a look behind the scenes!Reduced price rail tickets are also offered as part of the 175th celebrations. Stefano Mastropietro has extensive experience in public transport and maintenance of public transport vehicles. He was previously chairman of the IMechE Switzerland Group.
