这是first of two presentations, in the first presentation John will speak about the evolution of watchmaking, from the traditional engineering of early watchmakers, through to the advanced materials & methods of today, and how contemporary watchmakers blend these traditional & modern technologies. John will also share his vision for the development of a watchmaking industry in Ireland.

Speaker(s)

John McGonigle graduated from the Irish/Swiss Institute of Horology in Blanchardstown. He worked in Switzerland for Audemars Piguet and Christophe Claret. On his return to Ireland, he still made complicated watches for Swiss watch brands. He has his own brand of hand-crafted watches, Oileán Watches.
